Information for Clinical Intensive Candidates

Airport Information

Colorado Springs Municipal Airport is located only minutes away from my office. Recently Denver International Airport was rating one of the best airports in the nation. If you choose to fly into Denver , your drive to Colorado Springs will take about one and one-half hours. In either case, car rentals are available.

Local Accommodations

Colorado Springs offers numerous accommodations. My clients have reported good experiences with the Candlewood Suites located at 6450 North Academy, about one mile from my office. For additional information or to make a reservation, visit www.candlewoodsuites.com, or call 800-CANDLEWOOD. Be sure to request the "renewing intimacy" corporate discount!

Office Location

My office is located 5585 Erindale Drive in Colorado Springs. I’m on the second floor in suite 207, in the Erinbrooke II building . This office is located approximately one block east of the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Vickers.

Finances

My fee for service is $3300.00. The breakdown includes 20 hours of therapy at $150.00 per hour and two Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventories (MMPI) at $150 each. A deposit of $1000.00 by personal check reserves your preferred time. The check should be made payable to “Rob Jackson” and mailed to 5585 Erindale Drive, Suite 207, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. The balance of $2300.00 is payable by check on the last day of the intensive. Of if you prefer, you may prepay your intensive for a total of $3200.00 and take a $100.00 discount. In either case, you may call in your payment (888-891-4673) by debit or credit card over the phone if you wish.

Client Agreement

The state of Colorado requires therapists to provide a clear statement of our credentialing, confidentiality limits, and expertise. When you post your your deposit or prepay your intensive, we will email you a copy of our therapist/client agreement and an intake form. When you have had time to review it, please sign and date it. This agreement should be returned with your deposit.

What to Expect About the Intensive

Before. Each couple's needs and experiences are different, but it’s not uncommon for one or both individuals to experience an increase in anxiety as the intensive approaches. Occasionally, marital conflicts may increase as well. Should stress increase, please contact me so that I can help process your concerns by telephone.

During. Providing an emotionally and physically safe experience for you is my privilege and responsibility. I will offer you my respect and compassion. Most couples report an increase in mutual respect as well as empathy. While the intensive can be tiring, you can expect remarkable increases in insight and application.

You can plan on four hours of therapy daily during your intensive, followed by one to two hours of therapeutic assignments including psychological testing, reading, journaling, and processing. The majority of the time will be spent with the two of you together, but there will be time for individual counseling as needed or desired.

After. Like Christian sanctification, recovery is truly "one day at a time." However, you can expect to know how to implement a radically different approach to life and intimacy. If follow-up with me is needed or desired, we can script an aftercare plan for you that includes telephone counseling, online support, and conference calls.

What to Bring with You

I encourage you to dress comfortably during your stay in the Springs. Be sure to bring a light jacket with you in the summer, as it gets cold at night. In the sessions, you may want to take notes, so a couple of notebooks and pens will be helpful. Some clients have brought their tape recorders in order to capture the content of the sessions. You’re also welcome to bring your Bible of course. I encourage you to bring a photo of your children if applicable, and a photo of yourself when you were a child if you have one available.

What to Do in Colorado Springs During Your Stay

After a day of therapy, you’ll want to take a break from your cares. Colorado Springs has a number of attractions that you’ll want to consider. Here are some of my family’s favorites:

Additional information on these attractions and others can be found here. And for area restaurants, click here.

Please contact me if I can be of further assistance!
